Motor pinged like mad if you get on it anywhere low in the rpm range, but lots of torque, and really got good from 4000-6300K.]]>

It started to pull hard right when I applied the brakes when cold.  Pulled off the front drums, all looked ok.  Got to the point where I was fearful to drive it.  Pulled the front drums again and found the shoes on the right side were not installed like the left.  Repositioned the right shoes like the left and now braking is perfect!]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.nwde.org/extras/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=443">mklotz70</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> Converting pre 78&#039;s to disc brakes<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 17 July 2008 at 7:57pm<br /><br />You'll search a lot faster if you use google's advanced search and put nwde.org in the site info.<br><br>You can also go to http://forum.ratsun.net and do a search...tons of info on both sites, but ratsun has the most current.&nbsp; I think the info I posted on ratsun about the brakes on my NL is the most recent brake work.<br><br>There's a couple of ways to put discs on the rig, but no easy OEM swap.&nbsp; The spindles are quite different.&nbsp; The drum trucks had kingpins and the disc ones had ball joints.<br>]]>
