Depends on the mount. I don't have a J-series engine to compare, but I do know the old E1 (1200cc) engine from the 320s used the same carb mount as the L-series. What won't work is an A-series carb- that IS a different size carb flange.

If a L16 carb will work, a webber will work- with one big caveat: It MUST be jetted for the smaller engine. Webbers typically come jetted for 2.4L or so and that's FAR too much jet for a J13. The same goes for a L16 carb, but jets for the L13 (closest match) are next to impossible to find (maybe in England?).
